Wenger misses midfield target

Arsenal have missed out on the signing of Younes Belhanda who has joined Dynamo Kyiv from Montpelliet for €10million.

The Morocco international has been the subject of transfer speculation since the end of the 2011/12 season after he played a key role in the Paillade’s first Ligue 1 title success.
While Montpellier were able to persuade the 23-year-old to stay for another season, they had conceded they would have to sell the midfielder this summer after he turned down the offer of a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in 2014.
The likes of the Gunners, Manchester United, Tottenham, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid were all thought to have taken an interest in Belhanda but it is Ukrainian outfit Dynamo Kyiv who have captured him.
Dynamo have announced Belhanda has signed a long-term contract and will wear the number 90 shirt next season.
