Watch: Ukrainian protesters toss unpopular MP into dumpster
A Ukrainian member of parliament was tossed into a dumpster Tuesday in Kyiv.
Videos of the incident shows Vitaly Zhuravsky, a former cabinet minister in the government of ousted president Viktor Yanukovych, walking past protesters outside parliament when he is seized by members of the crowd and tossed into a metal trash bin.
According to NBC News, Zhuravsky is not particularly well-liked since he authorized laws restricting political protests and wrote a bill that would have criminalized libel, which threatened the ability of journalists to report critically on the government.
The protesters were seen dousing him with water and even throwing a car tire into the bin. Zhuravsky was eventually able to escape when uniformed men came to his aid and let him out of the dumpster.
