Net wage figures used to compile the list of dozens of global cities take into account tax deductions. Cities are ranked from a low of 6.3 (Kyiv) to an off the charts high of 141! The mean is 100. Net wages are a good indicator of expendable income in cities. For instance, a worker in Zurich will have almost 23 times the amount of money to spend after taxes than a similar worker in Kyiv, Ukraine.
