Wait until Wembley says Frank Lampard

Roy Hodgson’s England have come in for plenty of stick in the wake of their goalless stalemate in Ukraine on Tuesday night.

Hodgson’s men found themselves on the back foot for long spells before managing to hang on for what could prove to be a vital point in World Cup qualification.

England top Group H with two home qualifiers remaining next month.

Lampard has told Hodgson’s detractors to reserve their judgement on England until the final two games have been and gone.

The Chelsea midfielder, who won his 100th cap in Kyiv, said: “A win would have been better, but a point is a good result. They are a very good team. A team like them with the quality they have got on their wings, you are going to get moments of pressure.

“Playing two games at home and with the way we have been playing there lately, I fancy us to do it.

“We have to believe in ourselves that we can go and do it next month.

“I don’t know about the critics – it doesn’t matter too much. I think the answer will be after the next two games.
