Video: Ukranian politician trashed – literally

Some people might say that politicians are full of rubbish, but an angry Ukranian mob took their vitriol one step further by tossing MP Vitaly Zhuravsky into a skip outside parliament in Kyiv.
Once Zhuravsky and his briefcase were in the bin, protesters threw water and a large tyre on top of him.
“We live in a country where blood flows because of you,” Reuters reported one protester as saying.
Zhuravsky is a former member of the political party of ousted president Viktor Yanukovych.
It is not clear why he was targeted but the incident occurred before MPs were due to ratify an agreement offering limited self-rule to the country’s troubled eastern regions.
Some reports suggest the crowd may have been expressing their anger at his role in passing a bill in January restricting freedom of speech, the Washington Post reported.
Protesters had earlier been calling for a new law that would require government officials to be vetted on the basis of roles they held in previous administrations, many of which were viewed as corrupt.
