US envoy sounds off about propaganda

US Ambassador Pyatt at the “Countering Information War in Ukraine” Conference held in Kyiv on January 29 opined about Ukraine’s response to Russia’s information war against it.
Pyatt said: “It’s a huge mistake to create a ‘Ministry of Truth’ that tries to generate alternative stories. That is not the way to defeat this information warfare.”

Which is exactly what Ukraine did when in created the so-called Ministry of Truth, named the Ministry of Information, under Yuri Stets, former head of the president’s Channel 5 TV station. Stets resigned last month after criticism of his work.
The American envoy said the number one priority for Ukraine is to fight corruption.
