US Allocates $23Mln-Aid to Ukraine – Embassy
KYIV (Sputnik) – Washington has granted Ukraine medical and communications equipment worth $23 million, the US embassy in Ukraine said Sunday in a statement.
“Last night… the United States provided vital military and communications equipment and medical supplies worth $23 million,” the statement reads.
According to the US embassy, the equipment will be delivered to Ukrainian military units participating in the training conducted by US instructors.
Since the start of the conflict in eastern Ukraine in 2014, the United States has been providing Kyiv with non-lethal military assistance. In April, Washington sent 300 troops to Ukraine to train the country’s National Guard.
On November 26, US President Barack Obama signed a 2016 defense budget bill into law. The budget provides Kyiv with some $300 million in military assistance.
