Ukravtodor to repair about 2000 km of roads in 2012
The State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) is intending in 2012 to repair, reconstruct and construct about 2,000 kilometers of roads.
According to the press service of the Infrastructure Ministry of
Ukraine, road infrastructure for Euro 2012 was prepared on time. In
particular, the Yasynuvate interchange was completed and traffic was
launched on it, and roads were repaired on the approach to the Shehini
and Uhryniv checkpoints in Lviv region.
In addition, the agency launched four-lane traffic on the
Kyiv-Zhytomyr road. From October 2011 to June 2012 it performed a large
volume of work on the road, in particular laying 1.2 million tonnes of
asphalt and concrete mix. All the work on the Kyiv-Zhytomyr road will be
completed by the end of October this year.
The work on the Kyiv-Kharkiv road is being completed – in particular,
four-lane traffic is being opened from Boryspil to Lubny, and repairs
of various sections are being completed on the road from Lubny to
Kharkiv.
In addition, it is planned in 2012 to complete the repair of the road
from the Kyiv-Odesa highway to Mykolaiv. The reconstruction of the road
from Mykolaiv to Kherson will be completed according to first category
parameters. It is planned to repair 92 km of the road from Kherson to
Simferopol, which will allow travel from Kyiv to Crimea on repaired
road.
Work to protect Crimean roads from landslides will be carried out this year.
In accordance with the instructions of the president and the Cabinet
of Ministers, the agency is continuing the construction of a highway
with two bridges across the Dnipro River in Zaporizhia, the southern
bypass around Dnipropetrovsk, the fourth stage of a bypass around
Donetsk, the reconstruction of various sections of the
Dnipropetrovsk-Donetsk road, and repairs to the
Reshetylivka-Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk-Luhansk and Kirovohrad-Mykolaiv
roads, and road sections on the Lviv-Dnipropetrovsk route.
