Ukrainian president says reforms to boost business
KYIV, May 18 (Xinhua) — Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said here Friday that the recently-adopted reforms will work to ensure favorable conditions for doing business.
“We have approved a number of laws and reforms that will promote the liberalization of the economy,” Yanukovych said during a meeting with parliamentarians and experts from the European Union.
The reforms will reduce tax burdens on business and the number of licensing procedures, Yanukovych said, adding that the number of regulatory documents needed for doing business had already decreased by 90 percent over the last two years.
The country’s climate for business has improved in recent years, the president said, adding that the foreign direct investment in Ukraine went up 10 percent in 2011.
