KYIV, Feb 24 (Bernama) — Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on Thursday named three new ministers in a move seen as a way to speed up improvements in the country’s economy, reported China’s Xinhua news agency.

Finance Minister Valery Khoroshkovsky was replaced by 38-year-old Yury Kolobov, who has served as deputy chief of the Ukrainian Central Bank.

Khoroshkovsky was appointed as the country’s first deputy prime minister.

Meanwhile, 47-year-old businessman Petro Poroshenko, sometimes cited in the local press as one of the most influential people in Ukraine, will replace Fedir Yaroshenko as economy minister.

According to local analysts, the Ukrainian cabinet needs new faces to address corruption and to strengthen state institutions.
