Ukrainian parliament will never support homosexual ‘marriages’ – Rada speaker

Kyiv, November 13, Interfax – Chairman of the Supreme Rada Vladimir Groisman assured that the parliament would never agree to legalize homosexual ‘marriages’ in the country.

“We stand for family values. I hear fakes that homosexual ‘marriages’ may be introduced in Ukraine. God saves us from it! We will never support it,” he said when the parliament was discussing the introduction of anti-discrimination amendment in the labor legislation.

The speaker of the parliament also noted the importance of strengthening family values and admitted there can be introduced a post of a special plenipotentiary in the government on the family issues.

Groisman noted that adoption of anti-discrimination amendment would allow introducing visa-free regime with the European Union for Ukrainians.

As was reported, on Tuesday, the Rada accepted all laws from the package necessary for liberalizing visa regime with the EU, except amendments to the Labor Code on impossibility of discrimination for sexual orientation when hiring employees.
