Ukrainian Interior Ministry tightens public order security

The Ukrainian Interior Ministry has introduced reinforced security measures in crowded areas for the next two weeks.

Advisor to the Ukrainian Interior Minister Ivan Stoiko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Under the ministry’s order, the public order maintenance will be strengthened for two weeks. This means the reinforced security measures in crowded public places, i.e. airports, highways, metropolitan,” Stoiko said.

According to him, the decision was made due to the data by the Interior Ministry and the Security Service of Ukraine about possible attempts to destabilize the situation in Ukraine.

“This doesn’t concern directly Islamists – those, who carried out relevant attacks in Paris. This, first of all, concerns Russian subversive and intelligence groups,” Stoiko said.

He also informed that anti-terrorist centers, involving representatives of all law enforcement structures, are operating in every region of Ukraine,
