Ukraine’s Naftogaz Says Made $32Mln Prepayment to Russia’s Gazprom
KYIV (Sputnik) — Ukraine’s national oil and gas company Naftogaz said Monday it has made a prepayment of $32 million to Russian energy giant Gazprom for gas supplies.
“We confirm the transfer, it was made on May 14,” a spokesperson for Naftogaz told RIA Novosti.
After a half-year halt in Russian gas supplies to Ukraine amid Kyiv’s massive debt, the two sides agreed on an interim gas deal in October 2014, to cover the winter period.
On April 1, Gazprom and Naftogaz signed a supplementary agreement on Russian gas deliveries to Ukraine for the second quarter of 2015.
