Ukraine’s Grain Shipments Advance by 42%, Interfax Reports

Jan. 5 (Bloomberg) — Ukraine’s grains exports advanced 42 percent between the start of the marketing year on July 1 and yesterday compared with a year earlier, Interfax-Ukraine reported, citing the Agriculture Ministry.

Exports rose to 9.65 million metric tons compared with 6.79 million tons, Interfax said. Wheat shipments accounted for 2.49 million tons, including 1.33 million tons of milling wheat. Barley exports were 1.87 million tons and corn 5.18 million tons, Interfax said.

Grain exports in December were 2.55 million tons, of which corn made up 2.16 million tons, according to the Kyiv-based newswire.
