Ukraine refuses to take part in Black Sea parliamentary assembly conference
KYIV, January 27. /TASS/. Ukraine has refused to take part in the 47th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC), the press service of the Popular Front said.
“Members of the committee for foreign affairs, who took part in a committee session, gave unanimous support to a proposal by the head of Ukraine’s permanent delegation to the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly, Lyudmila Denisova on renouncing participation in the 47th General Assembly, due to be held in Moscow from June 28 through June 30,” the report said.
In addition to it, Kyiv will try to press forward with an idea of boycotting the assembly among other BSEC member-states.
“A letter on the part of the Verkhovna Rada [national parliament — TASS] speaker Volodymyr Groysman to Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin who is asked to give an instruction to Ukraine’s diplomatic missions abroad to do appropriate work on producing a consolidated approach among BSEC member-states regarding participation in the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly’s 47th General Assembly,” the Popular Front said.
The BSEC Parliamentary Assembly holds sessions twice a year. The Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization has twelve member-states — Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine.
