Ukraine May Export 13 Million Tons of Grain Over Next Six Months

Ukraine may export 12.5 million to
13 million metric tons of grain in the six months ending July 1,
bringing the country’s carryover stock to a record 13
million tons, the country’s Agrarian Confederation said.

Shipments will include about 10 million tons of corn, 2
million to 2.5 million tons of wheat and up to 500,000 tons of
barley, Sergey Stoianov, director of the producers’ group, said
in a statement on the confederation’s website today.

The country exported 9.4 million tons of grain in
the first six months of the marketing year started on July
1, it said. This included 2.7 million tons of wheat, 4.7
million tons of corn and 1.8 million tons of barley.

Ukraine’s corn exports in December were a record at more
than 2 million tons, and total grain exports came to 2.6 million
tons, it said.
