Ukraine got no support in gas "broil" with Russia either in the east or west
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. President Viktor Yanukovich of Ukraine summarized first results of new “gas war” with Russia started by his government. “Unfortunately we have found no support either in the east or west”,- he said yesterday.
Nevertheless he would not be the Ukrainian President if he did not act on the principle ” Everything will be as I said “. Yanukovich restated that in spite of the contract with Gasprom this year Ukraine will decrease gas purchase from it from 52 bn cu m to 27 bn cum , substituting the shortage by coal or mythical new supplies whom official Kyiv have been unsuccessfully searching for since 1992. At one time it even wanted to purchase oil and gas from Iran. In contravention of valid contract, using power, the Ukraine tries to make Gasprom reduce gas price from $416 per 1.000 cu m to $220 per 1.000 cu m. At that as early as in December Yanukovich admitted that the conversation from ” power position” which Ukraine tried to hold with Gasprom during previous Yushenko administration , has led it to the fact that in the nearest future the Ukrainian gas transport system will turn into rusty pile of scrap metal.
The current “broil” is just warm conversation of accursed brothers and neighbors on actual price of potential ” pole of scrap metal”.
