Ukraine DTEK buys 45pct stake in electricity producer Krymenergo
Bloomberg reported that DTEK, Ukraine largest private coal and power producer won a bid to buy a 45% stake in power producer and distributor PAT Krymenergo.
According to the state property fund Ukraine state property fund sold the stake in Crimea based Krymenergo to DTEK for UAH 256 million. The starting price was UAH 246 million. The winner outbid TOV Luhanske Energetychne obiednannya.
DTEK is owned by the Ukraine richest man, Mr Rinat Akhmetov and is part of his SCM Holding. Kyiv based DTEK which also includes coal mines and coking plants, bought half of energy distributor PAT Dniprooblenergo last month and electricity producer PAT Dniproenergo in March.
The company acquisitions in energy sector also included 40% of power distributor PAT Donetskoblenergo and 45% of electricity producer PAT Zakhidenergo in January and 25% of PAT Kyivenergo a state owned energy generating and distribution Company in December.
