Ukraine approves draft budget for 2013
KYIV, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) — The Ukrainian government on Wednesday approved a draft budget for 2013, pegging its deficit at 1.65 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP).
“The budget is realistic, all financial indicators are optimally balanced. We plan to increase revenues primarily through economic growth,” Finance Minister Yury Kolobov told a press briefing after a government meeting.
The draft had put projected revenues at 49.4 billion U.S. dollars and expenditure at 54.4 billion dollars, Kolobov said.
The government expected the economy to grow at 4.5 percent for the coming year, the minister said, adding that the nominal GDP would amount to 211.14 billion dollars next year.
The government anticipated inflation rate at 5.9 percent next year, down from 7.9 percent in 2012, he said.
