UK Foreign Secretary Plans to Visit Kyiv in Near Future
LONDON (Sputnik) – On Thursday, Hammond met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, who arrived in London for a two-day visit, to strengthen the nations’ bilateral ties and take stock of the progress made on the Minsk peace deal, according to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
“We will both find ourselves in Munich [at the security conference] over this weekend and will no doubt have the opportunity to have further informal discussions over the course of the next 72 hours and I look forward to paying a visit to Kyiv in the next few weeks with my Polish counterpart to carry on these discussions,” Hammond said.
More than 20 heads of state and dozens of officials are expected at the February 12-14 Munich Security Conference in the southern German state of Bavaria.
