UIA Requests Cabinet To Grant It USD 100 Million Stabilization Loan

Ukraine International Airlines (Kyiv) has requested the Cabinet of Ministers to grant it a stabilization loan of USD 100 million, reads a statement made by the UIA press service.

The airline emphasises that any comparisons and analogies with bankruptcies of Ukrainian airlines several years ago are inappropriate and absolutely unfounded.

As to the airline, UIA senior managers and stockholders take all possible anti-recessionary measures in the sphere of their control, but in order to prevent a far-reaching crisis in the industry by system support from the Government.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the UIA plans to open 18 seasonal flights for the period of winter navigation of 2014-2015.

The Kyiv Economic Court granted a motion by the Kyiv Region prosecutors’ office on increasing the sum of demand of the relief to the UIA to UAH 157million.

The UIA has obtained permission for delivery of cargo and mail to the European Union countries from Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv Region).
