UEFA have lifted Dynamo Kyiv’s racism ban and cost Man City fans £100 a head
UEFA have tonight sprung a surprise by lifting Dynamo Kyiv’s racism ban for their Champions League tie with Man City.
Which is bad enough in itself.
But their unexpected lenience is not just another backward step in the fight against racism.
It has also cost City fans £100 a head.
I’m sure UEFA’s sole objective these days is to antagonise City fans. To reverse a stadium ban just three weeks before a game is ridiculous.

City travel to the Ukrainian capital on February 24.
Which now gives City fans just three weeks to put emergency travel plans together – or hand Kyiv and advantage with a completely partisan stadium.
Flights from Manchester to Kyiv would ordinarily cost about £170.
But for the dates around the match they now cost at least £270.
Cheers, UEFA!
