Tymchuk: Terror threat level high in Kyiv
The alert level on terrorist threats in Kyiv is very high, Head of the Military and Political Research Center, Dmytro Tymchuk, has said.
According to him, the export of terrorism remains possible, first of all, from the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area.
“We see that the very high threat level is occurring in Kyiv. First of all, there is no conception of military situation. We have entrances to and exits from Kyiv, where there is absolutely no control. One arrives in Kyiv by the railway transport and so on, which nobody controls. So, this is the ideal environment for the intrusion of sabotage and reconnaissance groups,” he said at Ukrinform on Monday, December 21.
However, he stressed that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) operated good in unveiling and eliminating sabotage and reconnaissance groups in the capital.
“Just over a few months the SBU in Kyiv revealed two sabotage and reconnaissance groups, which were aimed at the carrying out terrorist attacks in the capital. I believe this is a good indicator,” he stressed.
