Two-Headed Tortoise Has Separate Legs, Hearts, Appetites at Ukrainian Zoo

KYIV, UKRAINE – Visitors at the Kyiv Science Museum in Ukraine may think they are seeing double, but a tortoise on display really does have two heads!

And, that’s not the only multiples the reptile features.

The Central Asian Steppe tortoise has six legs, two hearts and two lungs. It was born five years ago in a Ukrainian zoo.

Officials say one head is more active than the other. They even enjoy different meals.

While one eats green leaves, the other one prefers carrots and cabbage.

The foreign zoo opened its exhibit of the two-headed reptile last week and will run it for another two months.
