This DJ’s eye Candy

From being a dancer to turning tables, it’s been a musical journey for the RnB queen DJ Da Candy. She hopped by at a city pub on the weekend and the zestful and vigorous energy was there for all to see.

“Bengaluru is a very crazy young city. The party people at Pebble were all jumping and screaming. The dance floor had amazing vibes,” beams Da Candy, the brightest female hip-hop DJ from Ukraine. Originally from Kyiv, she is one of the sexiest DJs in the world and is known to ignite the crowds with the powerful combination of crunchy beats and her irresistible charm. Having lived and tasted the music from all across the globe, DJ Da Candy’s silken hands are touted to rock the party at every club.

On a 56-city Asia tour, this DJ doesn’t like to stay in one place. She says, “It’s not tiring for me as I have adapted it as my style of life, since I love to travel a lot. Though I live in the beautiful city of Kyiv, Ukraine, I’m travelling throughout the year. I’m not a Playboy or a silicon kind of girl who would like to fit in one mansion. I am more a music based DJ, so I take my music to as many clubs as I can. I love the night clubs in China as they have high energy music and are big on performance based artists. The Vertu club there is really wild. If you want to get the feel of high energy a visit to the Escher Wyss in Switzerland is a must. I also like Hype in Delhi. I’m touring through Nigeria, end of March. The organisers help me in a lot of planning and I’m very happy with the way things turned out in India as my mood depends on the kind of gigs they offer me. I’m definitely coming back.”

“India is more versatile with different genres of music that work in different cities. Kolkata goes more with hip hop and pop music and Bengaluru moves to commercial house and progressive mixes. Pebble has a very special air to it and so does Fusion Lounge in Bengaluru. This is my second time in the city. I was here last year and played at Love Shack,” says the vinyl diva.

DJ Da Candy started DJing after being a dancer at clubs for six years. She recalls, “I used to dance and also write RnB songs. Besides writing lyrics, I was into rap music and performed at clubs with my music. I’m very inspired by the music of Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa.”
