Strategy to promote Ukraine around the world debated at Kyiv forum – watch on …

NGO ‘Global Ukrainians’ aims to protect the country’s interests through network of new leaders

Promoting Ukrainian interests around the world; the main theme of an international forum being held in Kyiv this weekend. In attendance; government officials, activists and political analysis.. A broad range of topics were discussed, including those related to reforms, business and countering the Kremlin’s informational campaign against Ukraine and its partners.

The event was organised by the NGO ‘Global Ukrainians’, a group attempting to develop a network of young Ukrainian leaders to develop the country’s political, economic and cultural spheres; anywhere from the US to Europe and from Asia to the Middle East. The NGO was one social initiative born out of Ukraine’s EuroMaidan Revolution in 2014.

One participant on the panel was Ukrainian singer and activist Ruslana. We asked her what her hopes were for a future Ukraine.

Another panel member was Mykola Vorobev, the Director of the Washington-based Centre of Eastern European Perspectives. He said Ukraine has lots of opportunities – but added there is lots of hard work ahead.

Organisers hope that with new Ukrainian initiatives like this, they can transform the country into a developed and competitive country, in today’s ever-more globalised world.
