Steve ‘LiQuiD112’ on Curse going to IEM Kyiv

We had the chance to talk to USSteve ‘LiQuiD112’ about USTeam Curse replacing USGoose in the IEM 6 GC KYIV. LiQuiD112 was able to clarify some things and gave us a little insight on the plans Curse has for the upcoming tournament.

SK-Gaming: We’ll get right to it, can you introduce yourself and what your role in the team is?

SK-Gaming: You are like an all-round manager and player in one! Either way, besides a post on your facebook page there hasn’t been much news about you guys going to IEM Kyiv. Can you explain what happened there and why it is that you guys got the spot?

LiQuiD112: We played in the IEM Kyiv Qualifier about a month ago and four teams would advance to get a spot in IEM Kyiv. We had to play CACounter Logic Gaming first round of the tournament and took a nice victory to start off; however Goose came out with some amazing play and we ended up taking the bubble in the Qualifier.
About two weeks ago Goose officially stated that they won’t be attending IEM Kyiv, the IEM head admins then extended us an invitation and we accepted.
We have been scrambling frantically to get everything in order to coordinate our attendance at the event. Some of our players have expired passports, others have prior obligations so we have just been ‘making sure’ we could attend.
After some leg work we determined we would definitely be able to make it. We were very excited because our attendance should be able to secure us a spot at the IEM Final in Hannover this March.”

SK-Gaming: I’m sure this is a proud moment for you to get the team to attend the Finals at Hannover. Now your team is taking the place of Goose but in the same group we have a switch as EUCounter Logic Gaming .EU is being replaced by EUSK Gaming . Are you happy with this change or would you rather have faced CLG.eu?

SK-Gaming: Anyone on the SK side in particular who you think your team needs to keep an eye on?

SK-Gaming: What will the line-up be for IEM Kyiv?

LiQuiD112: Our main roster right now is:

US ‘Pobelter’ or USTom ‘SYDTKO’ Oh
CACody ‘Elementz’ Sigfusson
USDavid ‘Cop’ Roberson
USChang ‘Nyjacky’ Wang
US ‘Crumbzz’
It’s either Pobelter or SYDTKO due to age restrictions for some competitions.

However because of last minute planning and prior obligations we can’t have the main team playing at the event in Kyiv. Crumbzz is waiting for his passport to arrive. If he gets it this week he will go, else we will be using a substitute. Elementz is taking classes for something so it’s impossible for him to go that weekend. Pobelter is too young to compete in any IEM Events.

At the event we will have the following line-up:

USSteve ‘LiQuiD112’
CAChang ‘Nyjacky’ Wang
USTom ‘SYDTKO’ Oh
USDavid ‘Cop’ Roberson
The 5th player will be a surprise!”

SK-Gaming: What is your prediction for the group stages and who do you think will take the big prize home?

SK-Gaming: Ok, good luck and thank you for the interview. Anything you would like to add?
