Soldiers killed in Ukraine which is going to happen when you fight in a war …

July 15 2014

Kyiv, Ukraine – Despite all the advances the Ukrainian military has made in the last couple of weeks, there are still a whole lot of pockets of resistance over there in the east of the country, resistance which is making it extremely difficult for the government to like win the war and stuff.

Despite taking back the majority of the territory lost over the last few months by the rebel fighters, soldiers are still being killed, six just on Tuesday. That is of course happening because, despite what the government in Kyiv is saying, they are in the midst of fighting in a war and in war soldiers tend to die, no way to avoid that sort of thing.

In addition four civilians were killed in what some are saying was an air strike by Russian forces, though it could have been Ukrainian forces doing it accidentally, but someone certainly did it, that is not something anyone is disputing at this stage. Rebel officials have not said anything about any of this because at this stage no one is listening to them and they are starting to realise that.

“Today at 7 a.m. an unknown plane carried out a bombing attack on Snizhne. The flight can be described only as a cynical provocation. As a result of a Grad missile attack during the night, two Ukrainian soldiers received fatal wounds,” said a government spokesperson, covering every topic he had to cover.

There is no evidence at this stage either way as to who caused all these deaths but considering it war and all that these things will happen on occasion, they always do.

No one has reported how many rebel fighters were killed in the scuffles and the like but the Ukrainian government has never really reported that sort of thing.

“This is not great because people died but people do die in war and this is a war. I mean this isn’t WWII or anything, of course, but it is still a war. A war is essentially anything where you have two sides of significant populations fighting with each other over control of land or resources which is what is happening here. In war, people do die,” said Scrape TV International analyst Gustav Hander. “It sucks that that happens but the only way to avoid it is to avoid war altogether and that does not seem to be something anyone here is willing to do. They may change their mind as time goes on but right now they sure are fighting.”

Because of all sorts of things it appears unlikely the Ukrainian government will be changing their mind anytime soon.

“The problem really with war, any war, is that there are always going to be people who complain about their side having guys killed. Sometimes that is the losers but often it is the winners who make the most complaints, who want o play themselves off as martyrs or something and that is just silly. People just die in war, no sense pretending otherwise,” continued Hander. “It’s a terrible thing to be sure, unless of course you don’t care about the people, but the only way to prevent it from happening is to stop all wars from happening, like ever, which does seem like a pretty unlikely thing to have happen.”

Some more people will probably be killed on Wednesday and for a few days to come.
