SK.LoL will be attending IEM Kyiv.
With the IEM Kyiv event just around the corner, SK Gaming have had their place confirmed, they will replace Counter Logic Gaming .EU.
The reasons behind why CLG.eu cannot participate are believed to be regarding the partnership they had in place with mTw when they were known as AbsoluteLegends.
CLG.eu are due to release a statement shortly which will give more details on the partnership and how it has affected the qualification.
SK Gaming were the first back-up team should any European team pull out of the event as they finished 4th in the IEM Kyiv final qualifiers (The top 3 earned places in Kyiv). The reserve place for Kyiv has nothing to do with previous IEM Circuit points or Riot Games season points, it was purely based on the seeding from the final qualifiers.
While this has been a fortunate turn of events for SK, it does mean that the SK.LoL team will have participated in all 4 IEM events so far this season, the only team to have done so.
From the North American server the team Goose have also announced they will not be attending IEM Kyiv. The team to replace them was due to be decided by a qualifying match between Counter Logic Gaming and Team Curse but due to CLG being in another tournament in Asia, it is believed Curse will take the open NA spot.
