Six Radio Stations Suspend Broadcasting In Crimea
TAVR Media (Kyiv) – Russkoye Radio, Hit-FM, Kiss FM, Radio ROKS, Radio Melodia and Radio Relax of the TAVR Media Radio Croup (Kyiv) have stopped broadcasting in the unrecognized Republic of Crimea, the TAVR-Media’s press-service said in the press-release.
Six radio stations of the TAVR Media Group have suspended their operation in Crimea due to legal and technical problems with FM broadcasting on the peninsula, the press-release noted.
“We are not leaving the Crimean market, but we’ll be waiting for an opportunity to switch to Crimean frequencies. We are sure the situation on the peninsula will shortly improve and we’ll raise the issue of on-air broadcasting for our Crimean audience,” Vitalii Drozdov, the general producer at the TAVR-Media Radio Group said.
Yet, he stressed the broadcast of all TAVR Media radio stations was available on their official websites.
As Ukrainian News reported, the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Committee considers subordination of the state-owned Krym television and radio broadcasting company and the state-owned Radio-Television Transmitting Center of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to the Supreme Council of Crimea unlawful.
