Maidan activists have vacated seven government buildings captured by them in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv Prosecutor Serhiy Yuldashev said at a meeting with a representative of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, Ukrinform reported.
“Today seven government buildings in downtown Kyiv were released from representatives of self-defense forces and Right Sector,” the prosecutor’s press service quoted him as saying. According to Yuldashev, the buildings were released without the use of force. In particular, activists vacated the premises of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting, the Main Department of Urban Planning, the Economic Department of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine, the Union of Architects of Ukraine and the National Music Academy of Ukraine. In all, 950 activists left the buildings, and most of them – about 300 people – stayed at 7/11 Khreshchatyk Street. However, Yuldashev said, 12 government buildings were still under the control of self-defense units, among them the Zhovtnevy Palace and the Ukrainian House.
