Russian natural gas flows to Ukraine stable – Ukrtransgaz
KYIV Jan 26 (Reuters) – Russian natural gas flows to
Ukraine are stable, Ukrainian gas transport monopoly Ukrtransgaz
said on Monday.
A Ukrtransgaz spokesman said Ukraine had received around 23
million cubic metres of gas on Jan. 24.
Supplies from Russia’s Gazprom had been cut off
for six months due to a dispute over pricing and unpaid bills
before restarting on Dec. 9. Ukraine received a total of 518 mcm
of Russian gas in December.
Ukraine had 9.7 billion cubic metres (bcm) of gas in
underground storage by Jan. 24, down by 42 percent since the
start of the heating season, Ukrtransgaz data showed.
