Russian agitation strengthens Ukrainian solidarity
It’s gratifying that columnist Gwynne Dwyer has made a correct assessment of what he calls “the Ukrainian endgame.” Following the euphoria of The Maidan in Kyiv and the human losses during the February Revolution, Ukraine was facing a prolonged siege by pro-Russian separatists.
Now the situation has improved markedly, despite setbacks, and Vladimir Putin’s plans for the re-establishment of Ukraine’s colonial status have been stalled. Indeed, Russia’s annexation of Crimea and its forays into Eastern Ukraine have unified Ukraine, solidified resistance and awakened national consciousness.
