Result: Dynamo Kyiv cruise to Maccabi Tel Aviv victory

Dynamo Kyiv have picked up their first victory in the Champions League group stages after goals from Andriy Yarmolenko and Junior Moraes helped them to a comfortable win over Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The Ukrainian club, who drew their opening game 2-2 with Porto, took a fourth-minute lead in Israel when Derlis Gonzalez‘s slide-rule played in Yarmolenko and the attacker rifling his effort into the bottom corner.

Maccabi had a goal disallowed when Eran Zahavi escaped the attentions of Antunes before prodding the ball into the back of the net, but the midfielder was in an offside position.

Danilo Silva could have added to Dynamo’s lead midway through the first half when he found space to shoot, but directed his effort straight at keeper Predrag Rajkovic.

Zahavi missed another chance to bring Maccabi back on level terms after a well-timed run, but the midfielder scuffed his shot.

Minutes after the restart, Dynamo thought they had a case for a penalty after Gonzalez’s shot appeared to strike Eli Dasa‘s hand, but the referee waves away their appeals.

However, Kyiv doubled their lead moments later as Moraes unleashed a powerful strike into the top right corner of Rajkovic’s net.

Sergiy Sydorchuk had a chance to score a third late on, but Dynamo were able to see out a comfortable victory in Israel.
