To conduct the fundamental study “The Market for Frozen Fruits, Berries, and Vegetables of Ukraine and Russia”, Fruit-Inform has monitored frozen fruit and vegetable departments in retail chains of Kyiv and Moscow. The results showed that the share of domestic brands on supermarket shelves in Kyiv increased by 4 percentage points year-on-year.

Preliminary figures show that frozen potatoes led in the increase, as the share of domestic brands in the frozen potato segment grew by 12 percentage points. Frozen vegetables and berries took the second place with the increase of 6 percentage points. The share of domestic brands in the segments of frozen mushrooms and frozen vegetable mixes became 4 percentage points higher.

The updated study will be available already in June 2012. The situation in the Russian and Ukrainian markets for frozen berries will be actively discussed during the 3rd International Conference “Berries of Ukraine – 2012: Frozen Produce Fresh Market” that will take place at Stolychnyi Agricultural Center, Kyiv, Ukraine, May 24-25, 2012.
