Rada Compels Internal Ministry, SBU Disarm Illegal Armed Groups
The Verkhovna Rada has compelled the Internal Affairs Ministry and the Security Service of Ukraine to immediately hold disarmament of illegal armed groups, and also citizens who unlawfully possess weapons.
Draft resolution No.4614 as a whole received votes of 256 Members of Parliament, while 226 votes enough for approval.
The resolution takes effect at the moment of adoption.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Internal Affairs Minister Arsen Avakov is confident the Internal Ministry is capable of withdrawing illegal weapons, and secure order in the streets.
On March 31 night first deputy chairman of the Kyiv Municipal State Administration Bohdan Dubas and two men from the Maidan Self-Defence were taken to hospital after shooting in central Kyiv.
