Putin meets Poroshenko on Ukraine crisis in Milan

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko met in Milan, Italy. It’s the latest attempt by the two leaders to ease tensions in eastern Ukraine. Kyiv accuses Moscow of supporting if not encouraging the unrest.

The two leaders held talks during breakfast. It was their third meeting since fighting broke out in eastern Ukraine in March. EU leaders also attended the meeting at the Milan prefecture building. Last month, Kyiv and rebel forces agreed a ceasefire and peace accord, which were violated by both sides.
