Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Pshonka has confirmed that former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko has only been drinking water and juices in recent days.

“She has been drinking juices and water in recent days, that’s true. As for explanations about her health state, we don’t have problems with that,” Pshonka said at a press conference in Kyiv on Friday.

He added that when employees of the penitentiary service asked Tymoshenko whether she was on hunger strike, she said that she was not.

“When they asked Tymoshenko whether she was on hunger strike or not, she said ‘I’m not on hunger strike’,” the prosecutor general said.

According to him, all products passed to Tymoshenko are stored in her refrigerator.

“Today she is meeting with German doctors, and further, I think, Ukrainian doctors will decide and ask Tymoshenko whether she is on hunger strike,” he said.

As reported, Tymoshenko went on hunger strike on April 20 to protest against use of force against her during her compulsory hospitalization to Kharkiv-based hospital. The State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine stated that Tymoshenko had not officially confirmed she was on hunger strike.
