Portfolio of refinancing credits is UAH 100.5 bln – NBU
The volume of refinancing credits of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) issued to banks is UAH 100.5 billion today, including UAH 55 billion issued to solvent banks and UAH 45 billion issued to insolvent banks, NBU Governor Valeriya Gontareva said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.
“The debt on refinancing credits since early 2015 was minus UAH 8.4 billion. We still hope that we will return refinancing credits issued before I arrived to the NBU. At present, we jointly with the Deposit Guarantee Fund are working on the sale of assets used as collateral by insolvent banks,” she said.
She said that operating banks which do not have a chance to service the debt now have signed debt restructuring agreements for the period of five years.
Gontareva said that since early 2015, 33 banks have been removed from the market and 63 banks since early 2014.
