Poll: One in three football fans would like to visit Ukraine again after Euro 2012

Thirty-two percent of the fans who visited Ukraine during the Euro 2012 European Football Championship are ready to visit the country again, while 68% are not ready, according to a survey conducted by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in four host cities in Ukraine during the tournament.
Some 68% of the guests of the tournament are ready to again visit Lviv, 54% – Kyiv, 41% – Donetsk, 17% – Kharkiv, and 4% – other regions (they were able to name several cities).
In terms of tourist appeal the highest mark was given to Lviv (81%) and Kyiv (76%), whereas Donetsk (61%) and Kharkiv (45%) were less presentable. Foreigners noted that had been previously well informed about the host cities. Tourist offers were not so important to football fans.
More than 80% of those who visited Euro 2012 cities felt no language barriers. They said that Lviv and Kyiv were the most hospitable cities (78 and 69% respectively).
Price and quality generally satisfied over 65% of Euro 2012 guests, including 78% in Donetsk.
The availability of information, transport and other services was praised by more than 75% of respondents (Lviv – 86%, Kyiv- 81%, Donetsk – 79%, Kharkiv – 75%).
Moreover, almost 84% of the visitors had come to Ukraine for the first time. Most of those who visited Ukraine more than twice are Russians.
Some 39.74% of fans visited several cities in Ukraine, and 60.26% visited only one Euro 2012 host city in Ukraine.
The average visitor of the European football championship was aged between 30 and 39 (32%).
The survey was conducted in four Euro 2012 host cities in Ukraine at airports, railway stations and fan zones.
