No excuses for Stoke defeats

I WISH to reply to the letter by A J Gleave (Sentinel, Feb 8).

Back in September, Mr Gleave wrote a letter to The Sentinel after Stoke lost 4-0 at the Stadium of Light. He blamed the defeat on the travelling to and from Kyiv a few days earlier.

After Stoke’s defeat to Sunderland at the Britannia Stadium, lo and behold, he is off again, blaming the sending off of Huth and the weather conditions.

Let’s look at the facts – Huth was sent off after 44 minutes, yet on the same day, Kevin Nolan was sent off after only nine minutes, yet West Ham went on to win their game.

Also, the weather conditions were the same for both teams.

Stop finding excuses. What’s the reason for the defeat to Fulham? The grass was too green?
