Newly elected Kyiv Council to meet Thursday

Deputies of the Kyiv City Council will gather for a session before the President’s inauguration, namely on June 5.
Head of the Holosiivska District State Administration of Kyiv, head of the city organization of the All-Ukrainian Association Batkivshchyna Mykola Danevych wrote on Facebook. “According to my information, the Kyiv Council session is planned for tomorrow at the Column Hall of the Kyiv City State Administration,” he noted. MP Oleksandr Bryhynets also wrote on his Facebook page that the Kyiv Council session will be held tomorrow, at 10:00 a.m. “There is one issue on the agenda – election of the Kyiv Council Secretary,” he said. As reported, final results of the elections to the Kyiv Council were announced by the Kyiv territorial election commission only late in the evening on June 3. According to official information, the UDAR party of Mayor Vitali Klitschko received 78 deputy mandates and makes up the majority in the City Council, the Radical Party of Liashko – 7, Svoboda – 6, Samopomich – 5, New Life – 3, Civil Position – 3, Batkivshchyna – 3, Unity – 2, Democratic Alliance – 2, Democratic Party – 2, self-nominated deputies – 8. Besides, judicial proceedings continue for another seat in the City Council.
