Mourinho: Kyiv could win the Europa League
Under-fire Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho thanked the Blues’ fans for their constant support during the club’s tough run.
Many of us are deservedly praising Willian for another wonderful performance at Stamford Bridge, being rewarded with a great free kick goal that turned things around for Chelsea at the end of yesterday’s match against Dynamo Kyiv.
“This is my moment”.
“The moment I came back to the club and we played the first match at home against Hull City, the way the stadium welcomed me was fantastic, but not comparable with today”.
“The bottom line is that it doesn’t matter how good your side is, if you’ve got four of five of your best players playing below their best ability, you’re going to struggle. They like him”, said Mendes, speaking to the BBC.
‘Real Madrid are keen on taking him off Chelsea’s hands.
Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Mourinho was asked about the reception he received from the fans as Chelsea’s supporters stood as one and sung his name loudly and proudly despite all the recent criticisms flying his way. But mentally, considering what people read and listen to, I don’t know how to thank them. “The hard moment is arriving for us every game”.
Dynamo manager Sergei Rebrov refused to give up hope of overhauling Chelsea s two-point lead over them in the race to reach the last 16. We had a reaction. I think it’s fundamentally what they showed, passion for the club.
“I don’t think the criticism has much effect on the players because the manager tells us what to do and everyone believes in the manager and we are doing what he tells us”.
“This was flawless because we conceded a goal with 15 minutes or so left and the team emerged”.
“This is the most prestigious tournament”.
“Yes, the manager can set the tone, but he doesn’t go out onto the pitch and play”. He said that the fans had not failed to recognise what he has done for the club and that he had brought good memories to them.
