Mixed injury news for Everton as they touchdown in Kyiv

Everton will again have to do without the services of winger Kevin Mirallas for Thursday’s crucial Europa League round of 16 second leg against Dynamo Kyiv.

Mirallas missed Sunday’s win against Newcastle after failing a fitness test on a knock sustained during the first leg at Goodison.

Roberto Martinez had hoped the 27-year-old would be fit in time but has no recovered so has been left out of the travelling party.

Tony Hibbert, Bryan Oviedo and Steven Pienaar are also left behind as they recover from longer-term injuries.

However, it’s not all bad news. Aiden McGeady is fit and back in the squad after a month out injured while John Stones is also expected to start after fully recovering from illness.

Defensive midfielder Gareth Barry is  also included, the 34-year-old is in the middle of a two-game domestic suspension but will almost certainly be recalled at the Olympic Stadium.

Everton squad: Howard, Jagielka, Baines, Robles, Lukaku, Coleman, McCarthy, Barry, Osman, Alcaraz, Stones, Atsu, Barkley, Besic, Kone, Naismith, McGeady, Garbutt, Browning, Griffiths, Gibson.
