Mercyhurst Prep tops Central Tech
Alex Borges and Casey Shelton each scored eight points in the second quarter to help the Mercyhurst Prep boys basketball team open a 34-27 halftime lead, as the Lakers held on to down host Central Tech 53-46 in a non-region game Saturday.
Borges finished with a game-high 22 points for Mercyhurst Prep (20-2) and Shelton totaled 15.
Eugene Husband led Central Tech (11-11) with 15 points and Kyiv Williams and Marquel Hilliard each added 12.
