Mayor of Kyiv Supports Human Rights but Not Gay Rights
Vitali Klitschko, mayor of Kyiv and who is described as a ‘dedicated social activist’ by the Eurocities2014 website, has said that he considers human rights to be a good thing but he is not going to speak up for the rights of gays and lesbians, according to a statement by UPO Gay Aliance Ukraine.
He was responding to a question from a member of the municipality of Munich Lydia Dietrich who asked the mayor to support the fight for human rights at a session at the Eurocities 2014 conference held in Munich this week.
