Man City left frustrated as UEFA lift Dynamo Ki…

Manchester City are believed to be frustrated at the time it took UEFA to make a decision on Dynamo Kyiv.

European football’s governing body has opted to cut the length of the Ukrainian club’s stadium ban from three games to one, meaning City supporters can now attend the Champions League Round of 16 tie at the Olympic Stadium on February 24.

Despite the game now being available for City fans, the fact it took three weeks to decide is likely to deny around 750 travellers the opportunity to make the trip to Kyiv which will see the English club with just half of their originally expected away crowd in attendance.

Flights to Kyiv have now doubled following UEFA’s announcement, making it harder for City fans to afford the trip, and the fact Dynamo will have the vast majority of the 70,000 stadium capacity will further play into the hands of the Ukrainian club.

A report in the Manchester Evening News indicates that City have questioned why it took UEFA the amount of time it did to make a call, also querying why they have upheld Kyiv’s appeal after one Dynamo fan was given a suspended prison sentence for a racially motivated attack on black Chelsea supporters in October.
