Maidan tent village in Kyiv seeing its last days on Khreshchatyk

Prosecutor General Vitali Yarema said the present Maidan tent village in the center of Kyiv is a hotbed of alcoholics, thieves and criminals, the PGO website report says.

Following the victory of the Maidan revolution and movement of many avid protesters to Donbas as National Guard volunteers, the Maidan has turned into a place of disorder and crime, many Kyiv residents say.

Persons that pose as Maidan protesters are still occupying a number of government buildings on Kyiv’s central street, Khreshchatyk, refusing to free them.

V. Yarema has already issued instructions to resettle Maidan residents to a nearby park and clear Khreshchatyk from heaps of rubbish and tents.

However, local police are sitting on their hands and refuse to follow his instructions.

V. Yarema reprimanded the police for lack of action and warned the police chiefs may lose their jobs.
