“Hot Offers for Lithuania: New
Year Adventures in the Baltic States”, “Christmas Express”,
“New Year Tour,” – these are the festive trip offers that Lithuania
is using to attract Ukrainian travel agencies, next to regular popular weekend
tours.

According to the chief advisor of
the VTD Raimonda Balniene, Lithuania
saw an outbreak of tourists from Ukraine in the first half of this year.

“Lithuania’s tourist accommodation
establishments have welcomed by 77% more Ukrainians than last year, totalling
20,400. They were provided with accommodation services by 81% more than in the
first half of 2013 – as many as 36,600. Tourist flows from Ukraine to Lithuania
have been surging from 2010. Last year, 32,200 Ukrainians visited our country.
These flows would go up even more if we had more air connections, because
currently there is only one flight a day with the Ukrainian airlines.

Ukrainians are very excited to
visit Lithuania and are fond of the country, we definitely feel their great
interest in the Lithuanian tourism business mission in Kyiv,” she said.
