Over the course of 10 episodes, viewers will have the chance to follow a number of extraordinary Ukrainians and events in their lives, as they reflect on the struggle for freedom, identity and ultimately, their dreams.
In one documentary titled ‘The Chaplain’, filmmakers followed priest Volodymyr Riznyk in the trenches near Donetsk Airport where soldiers pray for peace and the salvation of their enemies’ souls, amid some of the fiercest battles in Ukraine’s fight for independence.
The main goal of ‘Faces UA’ is to show real Ukrainians to foreign audiences.
Tatiana Pushnova, Ukraine Today Executive Producer: “‘Faces UA’ is an opportunity for talented young people to express themselves and for us, it is a chance to show unique stories from Ukraine to a worldwide audience. The project raises important issues of today. For example, the short movie ‘Who am I?’ tells how Ukrainians as the nation asked themselves ‘Who we are?’ and how they attempted to find the answer.”
The series was first aired on November 6 and will be broadcast daily at 09:15 and 21:15 Kyiv time. All the movies will be available on the official Ukraine Today YouTube channel.
